My August Gift to Myself

For my August gift to myself I decided to take my friend Margaret’s advice and give back. I decided to make a donation to the Four Seasons Conservancy Conservation Easement Fundraising effort. Their goal was to raise $300,000 by the end of August (and August is coming to a close very soon). I’m not quite sure how much they have raised to date but I did my part today in trying to raise the pledge bar wee bit.

Deep River truly is a magical place to live in. We have a trail system that is amazing. There are over 50 kilometers of trails right in town to walk, bike, ski or snowshoe on, all maintained by an enthusiastic group of volunteers. Because it is such a beautiful place to live, there is a push to develop more land into housing. The Four Seasons Conservancy (FSC) want to preserve a parcel of private land adjacent to the FSC to prevent housing development.

Here are a just a few photos from our walks in the Four Seasons over the years.

Here’s to another great month in my 70th year.
